Just curious how many of you ladies with pregnancy induced hypertension are going to be induced?? I have been on bed rest for 4 weeks so far and see that many ladies with PIH get induced around 38 weeks I have another appointment tonight with the doc so I an going to see if it is a possibility because my pressure keeps going up and only goes down when I lay on my left they said the baby is great it is me who is at risk with such high pressure (166/100) Thanks ladies
Re: Those of you with PIH
I had pre-e (so a little more than PIH) with my first pregnancy and I had a c-section at 35 weeks. I had been on bedrest for 4 weeks, and my numbers just kept getting worse. I think if it had just been PIH and bedrest was helping, they would have kept me on bedrest for a few more weeks. It was my protein levels that were not okay in the end.
This time around, I'm obviously hoping to avoid all of those problems, but I know I wont go past 39 weeks because I will have a repeat c-section.
It sounds like I am being induced this week (pre-e), they tell me I am 37 weeks on Friday. When it was just PIH they were going for 38 unless my pressure was looking good. Yours is higher than mine was when they were saying that, so you may indeed be induced at 38. Good luck...I hate not knowing for sure. Just tell me already!
Ditto.
I developed PIH at 14w w/DS and was on meds until I was induced at 39w2d. They had to increase my dosage around 32 weeks but it never got out of control and I never developed pre-e.
With this pregnancy, my BP has been very good (for me) so far but I'm still considered high rish. My OB said if I make it to 39w, he'll induce me again that last week.
