South Florida Babies

**BritishBride**

I think my babies will be about the same age difference as yours, so I have a few questions if you don't mind??

1) Did you buy a double stroller? I feel like when Camy's 18 months, she's still gonna need to sit in a stroller!

2) Did you put Abby in a toddler bed or did you buy 2 cribs?

3) Anything else? LOL

 thanks :)

  • Hi!!!

    1)  The girls are 16 months apart, but Abby is almost 18 months now and I would defintiely still use my double stroller.  I've used it whenever we go to the store, the zoo, park or just for walks.  I know Erin used two umbrella strollers and linked them together, but I like having a double.  Abby likes to walk around, but she still doesn't understand she can't run into the street or she can't run away frmo us at the store, so it's not like she can just walk by our side the entire time.  Her little legs also get worn out easily, so she starts whining and wants to be picked up after a few minutes... stroller is much easier :-D  lol  We have the baby jogger city mini-  i love it and it's one of the few double strollers that have seats that lie perfectly flat, so I can put Sarah in it already!

    2)  I bought a second crib.  Part of the reason was that up until last month (17 months,) Abby wasn't falling asleep on her own.  We were rocking her/holding her until she fell asleep.  Now she's falling asleep on her own and I still don't think i want to put her in a toddler bed for another few months.  Toddler beds mean she has the ability to get up and out of bed whenever she wants and I'm not ready to deal with that yet!!  I like her contained lol  I'm still not sure when we'll change her, but it'll be a month or so before we begin potty training.

    3) get a second monitor!!  We were going to get a monitor with dual cameras/receivers, but realized that in order to use it, you'd have to switch between channels and couldn've listen to both kids at the same time.  We also got a video monitor for Sarah.  Instead of getting up and checking on her and having to stop what I'm doign with Abby, I can just check the hand held monitor and make sure she's still sleeping without a) waking her up and b) stopping whatever I'm doing with Abbs.

We also got a 2nd diaper pail.  I forgot how much little babies poop lol

You may also want to get Camy a few toys to give to her after the baby comes.  You'll be feeding the new one so often the first few weeks, you can keep Camy's occupied with a new toy or crayons.  I would sit next to Abby while she colored with brand new crayons and talk to her while I fed Sarah.  She quickly got used to feeding time=playing time for her.  I do spend less time with one on one stuff than I used to, but she's a lot older now and plays independently and actually enjoys it!

good luck!  if I think of anything else, I"ll let you know :)  and if you have any  more questions, you can also email me!  jewake42 at gmail dot com

Thank you so much for all the info! We have a video monitor now with Camy, so maybe we'll use that for the baby, and just get a cheap sound monitor for Camy when the baby is born. I never thought about her being able to roam the house if she's in a toddler bed...good point! I do like the idea of her being "contained", LOL. My sister has girls 2 years apart and she bought DD#1 a baby and all the baby doll stuff (high chair, carrier, swing, stroller, and crib) for her so whatever my sister was doing with DD#2, DD#1 did that to her doll...so I'll probably do something like that.

    Thanks again :)

  • we got Abby a baby also and she carries it everywhere now!  lol

As for the video monitor... ew're actually going to get a video monitor for Abby lol  Now that she's older and we'll be moving her to a toddler bed soon, I want to be able to keep an eye on her!
