EP's: who feeds DC at night?

Do you feed DC and then pump or does DH feed DC while you pump?

?

I have been BFing 1x at night then the 2 other times I give DS a bottle then pump (which still takes less time than BFing). ??

Re: EP's: who feeds DC at night?

  • On the nights where DS wakes up at night, it depends on DH's work schedules who feeds him. If DH is just getting home from work, he feeds DS. If DH has to get up early for morning shift, I will feed DS.  I go back to work in about a week and we are trying for opposite shifts, but we will see how that turns out.

  • Since I'm at home right now I do both during the week and he feeds him on the weekend. We're down to only one night feed/pump session at this point anyway. When I go back to work he will feed while I pump.

  • Since DH is working M-F and I'm on mat leave, I usually do the feedings.  I try to pump if I wake up before DD is ready for a feeding.  If I pump after I feed DD a bottle, I usually leak BM.  We haven't officially figured out what will happen when I go back to work but we'll probably split the shifts.  Right  now DD usually needs only one night feeding (we go to bed late).
