MIL and I have been getting a long awesome-ly for the past few months, maybe year, but loandbehold, she had to go and f-it up.
Last Monday, Dh and I had some friends over for dinner (and wkly 24 watch party). Anyway, we both took a nap, and he woke up first, so he headed to the market. When he got back, he woke me up to help him prepare dinner. I started putting away the groceries, and I go and get sick (m/s). During the episode, I sorta wet myself, so I tell Dh I had to shower. At the same time, his friend arrives, so I figured "perfect, he can help prepare the dinner" (friend loves to cook).
When I get out of the shower, MIL is at the house, and sees DH "cooking" (really chopping onions to grill and then place the chicken on the grill - that was all the cooking involved). Anyway, the next day, she tells DH that she doesn't like to see him cook. So when DH tells me, my response was "well, who should cook in her eyes, consdiering I"m throwing up every 5 min?!" He says that I should.
So the next day, she calls me and offers to bring us dinner (take-out she was going to buy us), and I declined b/c we had a ton of leftovers. But now that I keep thinking about it, I'm ticked off! And SIL was telling me other petty things MIL did to her, and they are bothering me also.
Sorry, just needed to vent and get it off my chest. ::sigh:: Thanks for "listening."
Re: Really upset at MIL : (
A man perform fatherly/husbandly duties... GASP! I think these women are too old fashion.

::evil laugh:: LOVE IT! Since she didn't tell me, I can def use that reference and not really appear to be rubbing it in her face.
Honestly, DH has been helping me out so much, he's been amazing. But now he's getting a dose of my daily activities.

Ewwwwwwwwwww!!!! What a... Seriously? What year does she think we live in? I can tell you what, she would hate me. LOL. DH does 80% of the cooking in our home. He is good at it and enjoys it and you know what....I pull my own weight.
Your original post made it sound like your DH agreed with her? Does she egg him on like that? What a trouble maker!!!
Yeah, that reminds me - it's not you like you don't have a FT job too!!! ARG!! I am so mad for you!
When he told the story, he sorta made it appear that he agreed w/ her, but I think it was just to see my reaction. He hasn't stopped cooking, so... can't agree w/ her too much! LOL
The thing is that he speaks out of frusteration/tiredness, but then he sees me sick, and honestly feels bad for me. He's being the emotional one in this pregnancy. LOL

Oh God. I would be *ENRAGED*. My MIL has her faults but fortunately she isn't too old-fashioned in that sense and expects DH to help me around the house. Your MIL would hate me too lol. DH doesn't cook because he doesn't know how, but he cleans and does a lot for the baby - things I'm sure some people would consider "women's work."
I'd be so pissed that next time I saw her, I would go on and on and on about all the delicious meals that your husband cooked for you that week hahahaha. I'm a bit evil and confrontational like that.
Wow
Hmmm, yeah what decade are we in again?! Soo happy your dh does help
I can't believe your MIL would behave like that. Instead of being upset because her son is cooking she should be proud of the fact that he is taking very good care of his wife when she is not feeling well. Ugh I would be so pissed.
I know my MIL is bothered by the fact that DH cooks 99.9% of the time. But that is an agreement we have. Since he gets home earlier he prepares and cooks everything and then I pick up and clean up. It works for us. Plus he actually enjoys cooking I on the other hand don't. I prefer to bake.
