Do they automatically pull any unpurchased ones off the shelf? I had one of the tylenols and I want to replace it but I don't want to go buy one and it be on the recall list too.
All of the bad lots should be taken off the shelf. Two things you can do to make sure. 1) Ask the pharmacist there, or manager. 2) take a copy of the numbers with you and check the boxes. The numbers are on the outside too.
Also I saw that you were worried because you gave DD some of the recalled stuff. If she didn't have a reaction I wouldn't worry. The report said that the balance was off just slightly. (Like if your making salad dressing and you but in an extra tablespoon of vinegar, it might taste a little funny but it's okay) So they recalled just to make sure that LOs did have drug interactions or more of them break out in hives because it was too much medicine. Some lots actually didn't get enough of the active ingredient so the wouldn't do enough for kids.
Most stores have a system in their computer that automatically flags products that have been recalled, and it won't let them ring it up. That way, in case they miss some of the bottles on the shelves or if they were moved somewhere else, they won't mistakenly be sold to people. You should be fine if you go to a major chain-type store.

Just went to Target today to get some more and all of the Tylenol and Motrin brands were already pulled off the shelves. I just bought some of their store brand product (which we've used before and is only half the price).
It's supposed to be pulled off the shelf before the store opens (stores are supposed to check that stuff every morning before opening). I would still take the numbers with me to double check because not everyone is 100% responsible. I used to work at a store and it was mainly my responsibility to pull recalled items. Only I didn't work 7 days a week, and everyone else thought if I wasn't there to do it, it didn't need to get done until I came back
