Our first class was last night and I am very, very excited. My OB told me it was the best chance a patient has to go epi free and that she thinks it's "beautiful" and after seeing the videos I know what she means. Just wondering if anyone else was planning on hypnobirthing.
Re: Anyone else take/taking Hypnobirthing?
We are doing the hypnobabies home course right now! I'm starting week 4 out of 5 and so far it is going great!
I just need to get better at practicing during the day.
If nothing else it helps relax me before bed & has made me really look forward to the L&D experience instead of being scared of it! I don't think going med-free is going to be a complete "walk in the park" but I feel that I am strong enough to do this!
we took the hypnobirthing class. i loved it. i found it much more in line with what my first labor actually needed than the bradley class i took last time. i also loved my bradly class. but it was lacking in the type of relaxation techniques that ultimately worked for me when i was in labor. after that birth, i researched other techniques and found hypnobirthing. it was exactly what i was doing in labor.
there is a lot of homework, but you'll find that it becomes part of your life, so it doesn't feel like you are doing homework, but just having a little peace and quiet time. the techniques are universal, you don't just use them in labor. whenever i get stressed, or need to focus on something, or need to find clarity about anything in my life, i have this arsenal of relaxation tools to draw upon. it has brought a sense of calm to my life that was severely lacking before.
