Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Don't bother calling for your Tylenol products.

I just called the # (1-877-895-3665) on the box.  The woman that answered told me that no one has briefed them yet on the recall issue.  Are you kidding me?  So, she took my phone number and is supposed to call me back.  I am thinking that she's not going to call. . .

I got more info regarding the recall right here on the bump.  That is crazy.

  • Wow are you serious?!
  • Indifferent

I'm glad we only have Target brand "tylenol" in our medicine cabinet.

  • That is kind of crazy. When i tried to look up the problem online, i got two different articles. One saying it was a volunteer recall, then other saying there were metal specs. How can they be so different?! This is the first I have heard about the recall. A weekend away from TV and radio really does make a difference on what you know.

See, and I heard on the local news this morning that the recall was because some of the batches may contain twice the dosage of a normal batch. Who do we believe?

Oh that's just annoying, really. Stuff like that makes us parents paranoid! Plus, I just gave DD some last night and like I said, first time I heard about it was today. I'm not worried at all but a consistent report would be wonderful.

  • On the website for the recall, it said it was voluntary, & that there were multiple reasons. Some may have more of the active ingredient than it should, some may have inactive ingredients not listed on the label, & some may contain "particles." Particles of what, I would like to know.
  • The company has a different number to call about the recall: 1-888-222-6036.  Maybe the woman you talked to is in a whole different part of the company (or lives under a rock...).  I haven't called yet, but should today.

  • On their website they have all the serial numbers for the affected products, but we're all probably safe (all 3 bottles we had were fine and not part of the recall). The ingredient that is part of the recall is from bottles made in 2008. Since we weren't even prego then, unless you have older kids, you probably have all safe products.

  • Recalls are always voluntary until the FDA sends them notice they must recall the product. Just being voluntary doesn't mean it's not serious. It just means they caught the issue first before someone had an issue.

I don't know about that.  Then why have all their products been taken off the shelves?  Plus, the two bottles I had were recalled and we just bought them about 3-4 months ago.

I checked the serial numbers on the box at my house and the box at my mom's house and both are safe. The serial numbers are listed on the website.

My bottle of infant drops were on the list, and they don't expire until 9/11.  So, that's not entirely true.

I just bought mine ~6 weeks ago from Target.  You need to check to be sure.

  • I didn't read all the replies, so I don't know if this has already been posted, but you can check the product number online to see if it is one of the ones that was recalled.

  • I called the number from McNeil's site on Saturday morning and other than having to wait 20 minutes to talk to a person I did not have any problems.

This.  If you call McNeil they will send you a $12 check for every recalled bottle you have.  They also have an option on their website where you can send them your contact info and they will call you.  That is what I used and it was more convenient than being on hold.
