When your baby's bb stump fell off...

Did you notice it? Adi's is hanging by a thread, and it looks sore. I'm afraid he's going to tear it off when he kicks his feet around...The nurse said not to tear it off, but doesn't think his kicks are strong enough to do that. I'm supposed to just clean it with alcohol every once in a while. Anyone else have it hang there, or did it just come off all at once?

    Yep...it hung for awhile....don't pull it off!

    DS hung on there also.  I just left it alone and ended up finding it in his clothes a day or so later.  He still has a little in his belly button.  The doctor said it just left over scabs.  I am just leaving them alone til they come off on their own.

    My DS was maybe a little red underneath.  The stump is like a scab and if you peel a scab off too early it is really red/pink under it and could possibly start bleeding a little.  I would just limit touching it.  The alcohol may burn so don't use it.  Just keep it dry.

    landon's fell off yesterday while daddy was changing him (thank goodness) :) it was barely hanging right before that but we just left it alone.  just keep it clean and dry-- no need to do anything special to it.

    LO's was hanging by a thread for several days, but we didn't touch it. Eventually it came off on its own (around day 9) and we found it in the waist of his diaper cover.

    My uncle was holding LO and unintentionally rubbed it off when it was at the hanging-by-a-thread stage. Don't stress. If LO kicks it off then it was close to being ready anyway.

    you are all lucky that theirs came off so early. My son's stump fell off when he was 5 weeks old! It did hang for a day though before it fell off.
