Smoothie King?

So, I have recently been enjoying a few different kinds of smoothies at Smoothie King, and I have been feeling good about all the fruits, etc.  However, I do know that they add certain supplements and whatnot to them.  Do you think that is ok?  I am remembering that the doctor said something about avoiding "herbal" teas, and I wonder if these smoothies would fall under the same category....

Re: Smoothie King?

  • you can ask them what they put into it at smoothie king. i think all the herbal supplements cost extra, so as long as you aren't paying to add something, you're good!

  • I am a Jamba Juice fan but won't add any supplements to any of my smoothies because I just don't know exactly what is in them( I mean I do it when I am NOT pregnant but not while I am pregnant!)!
  • I like Tropical Smoothie..they also have "supplements" you can add to your smoothie, but they are all extra, so if you don't ask for them , they aren't in there.

Be careful... I went in there and talked to them and they put alot of soy and whey in a lot of their smoothies.  A lot of wheys have artificial sugars in them.  I much prefer Jamba Juice, they don't use any artificial/high fructose ingr.

  • Smoothie King uses turbinado (made from crushed sugar cane - similar to brown sugar) to sweeten their smoothies. I just ask them not to put it in my smoothie because the fruit sweetens it enough. I LOVE Smoothie King!!
