BF'ing help

So my hair lady convinced me to get the keratin treatment done in my hair. It never actually touched mt scalp bur it smelled so strong. When I was going to leave, she tells my I can't wash my hair for 4 days! I wished she would have said this earlier. When I get home, I look it up online and everything says it's not recommended for pregnant or nursing mothers. Now I'm freaking out. I don't know what to do? Should I pump and dump? For how long? Does anyone have the number of a lactation consultant I can call.

Re: BF'ing help

  • Tough call!  I don't have a number, but you could call Mercy Hospital and ask for the LCs there.  Faith and Anita, I believe, are their names and they are very knowledgeable.  Only problem is that it's the weekend and they might not be available.

    Sorry I'm not more help!

     hth!

  • I don't know of any LC but I just wanted to wish you good Luck! Oh, and don't let your baby touch your hair (you can't put it in a ponytail either)
  • Thanks! I called a bunch of places and no one could really help. they weren't familiar with the product. I called my hair lady and I went back and she washed my hair. She returned my money but she wasn't sure if it all came off. I think so because i let my hair air dry and although it's really soft, it's curly again. I'm going to pump and dump for the next day just in case. I'll just redo the treatment when I stop bf.

  • I think that you made a good choice.  Thanks for sharing.  I was wondering what you'd decided to do and if you'd had any luck finding good info.
