s/o Vegas (nttgpr)

DH and I are thinking about going to Vegas in the next couple months. We haven't been, and figure we'll never go once we have a kid.

Anyone who has gone...where did you stay? Any recs on what you *must* do if you're only there 3/4 days?

Thanks:)

DH and I love Vegas and have been there several times. We got married at Mandalay Bay last March and that is probably our favorite place to stay. We always see a show (preferably of the Cirque du Soleil variety - usually at New York, New York) when we're there. Rum Jungle (at Mandalay) is one of our favorite after hours places. Have fun!!!!!

Rhonie and I were just talking about it!

My fav place to stay is MGM, and I would say go see a Cirque show, or La Reve (any show really). You could always go to the damn if you want to get away from the lights.

I know, that's why the spinoff! Thanks for the recs...we'll definitely do Cirque.

I've stayed at Excalibur, Tropicana, and Treasure Island, Venetian  (in order of worst to best IMO)

my Vegas schedule:  (I used to go once or twice a summer)

9am - hit the pool.  Stake out a great spot.  Get there early in the summer  Trust me.

9am - 1pm:  Suck down bloody mary's with extra olives.   This is breakfast.

1pm:  back to the room where the AC is hopefully cranked.

    1 - 2pm:  lazy around.  Maybe doze

    2 - 3pm:  shower, primp, get ready

3:30pm-4pm:   Find an awesome buffet.   Eat a ton (it's got to hold you over until 3pm the next day).   I recommend the buffets at Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, and the Wynn

4pm - until whenever.   Party, gamble, whatever all night long.

Mandalay Bay is a great hotel.  So is the Wynn.

I really enjoyed Cirque Du Soleil when I was there.

If you go to the Fashion Show Mall at the mid/north end of the strip there is a place called '1/2 Price Shows' (or something like that).  You might have to wait in line for 15 - 20 minutes, but you can get discount show tickets that include a dinner at a nice restaurant.

We went to Vegas for our honeymoon last June. We stayed at the Trump (under $100/night by "naming out own price" on priceline). Its off the strip so you have to walk a block or so, but the hotel is super nice and a very close walk to the Wynn for a WONDERFUL buffet. We went to the Penn and Teller show, that was hilarious!

I am oh so late but DH & I go to vegas once a year.  You should definitely try and see one of the Cirque Du Soleil shows, they have plenty of them.

We have stayed at Luxor (South Strip) Planet Hollywood (Center strip) Aria (New and Center Strip) and MGM (North Strip)

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me.  We looove Vegas and every time we go we have a different experience but always a great one.

DH and I love Vegas!  We own a timeshare there so that is where we always stay - we usually go twice a year.  My favorite hotels to stay at are MGM, Mandalay Bay, Luxor and Venetian.

If you have never been you should try to see as many of the hotels as you can.  Each one is so unique!  I always rec'd seeing all of the free shows Vegas has to offer like the Fountain Show at Bellagio, The Pirate Show at Treasure Island and the Volcano Show at The Mirage.  They are so much fun!

If you like seafood, the buffet at The Rio is amazing!  Even though it is off the strip The Rio is a great hotel/casino and they also have my favorite bar, The Voodoo Lounge.

DH and I like to see the Cirque shows.  O and Love are my favorite.  There are a ton of famous chef restaurants in Vegas so we always splurge on a meal and eat at one of those.

All of the hotels have great shopping but if that is what you are really into then the Fashion Show Mall is awesome.

Check out the different exhibits offered at each hotel because they all offer some really cool things.  Most of them cost money but they are worth it.

If you have any specific questions PM me.  I feel that I am becoming quite the Vegas guru.

Bellagio is a beautiful hotel.  DH and I stayed there once and we were blown away with our room.  To be honest though I wouldn't rec'd it unless you have some extra money to spend.  There are no cheap places to eat inside the hotel.  We found that we spend a lot of extra money on food at that hotel.

I think there are better places for the money even though it is a nice hotel.
