Hi ladies,
we have several Melissa and Doug puzzles. I am not sure how to organize them. I cannot throw them in a box or cubicle like other toys. I also have all these little attachments for Mr. Potato and I am not sure how to sort them. Specifically I am looking for a solution for toys who have small parts attachments. I tried ziploc bags but with no success. Any suggestions?
TIA
Re: How do you organize puzzles and toys with little parts (not in boxes)
i put mr. potato head and things like that in ziplocs that then put them in those canvas storage bins on another book case
We have a puzzle "holder" that someone got DS for X-mas.
It looks like this:

Obviously some puzzle pieces end up in the wrong spot, but it's a good way to organize them.
As far as Mr. Potato head, we try to store everything in his butt. I also bought a toy organizer at Target (that someone on here suggested!) and we have one bin that is designated for Mr. Potato head items.

i also bought some of these for small toys and put them in his closet.
we have drawers for trains, cars, trucks, blocks, balls, small books, misc small toys.. they were cheap at target and kmart!
i keep one in our living room for art supplies (for his easel), play food (for his kitchen) etc
we have two of the target organizer(in girl colors though) that afrost linked. They are perfect for small toys. Most of our puzzles fit in the big bins too.
The "strapping baskets" from Land of Nod come in a variety of sizes and colors and I love them since DD can go into them herself and select toys. We use the smallest ones for her Little People - one basket for the people, one for the animals and one for the smaller accessories. Then we have the larger sets in larger baskets.
For puzzles, we bought a few large simple serving trays from Target and they rest underneath our bookshelf. We got ones in a faux leather and they blend w/ the dark wood bookshelf and look pretty good - AND DD can take them out herself.
