Re: PLEASE READ recall!!

  • Thanks. So, I have a 2 pack of Motrin from Costco that is on the recall list. We have opened on box. So, do we take them back to the store, or just toss them? I have never had a recalled product before, I don't know what to do. :)

  • Note at the bottom there's also a benadryl listed.  The one we just got is part of that recall.  The recall just says to stop using it.  Will they replace it??  ugh.  What a PITA.

  • My tylenol that I bought a month ago is part of it.

It doesn't sound like they'll be replacing it.

  • All I ever buy is generic store brand ones, i guess being cheap paid off in this case eh?
  • Thanks for posting this!  Unfortunately I have the tylenol that is being recalled.
  • SO I think you can go to the tylenol website and they will send you coupons eventually for new ones

. Me too for most stuff. Although I do have to wonder why name brands often recall and generics don't. Do they not test as often? Do they not bother with these voluntary recalls bc they don't care about brand loyalty and reputation? Or are they really just messing up less?

Good point Jill. I was wondering the same thing because I just checked the motrin and the tylenol and they are both Up&Up. Hopefully they aren't on the list because they do less standardized testing. Ugh.

    I'm not worried.

I tend to think that it is more likely that the multinational brands produce on such a large scale that it is inevitable that quality assurance breaks somewhere down the line. Tylenol is produced on such a large scale that it is a wonder that more recalls don't happen. Whereas brands for an individual store aren't made at such an large volume.

  • That's a good theory. I'll go with that and keep buying the generic stuff!!

  • Is anyone else completely sick and pissed off that they have to check their children's tylenol every couple of months for a recall? COME ON! The FDA and the drug makers need to get their sh*t together because this is ridiculous (sorry, the whole thing is just pissing me off right now).
