How can I pass off my seabands as something else?

We're not telling family till next weekend, but it's going to be 80 here tomorrow and Sunday! And we're seeing all the grandparents. Can't really wear long sleeves, but I don't want to take them off either!

Think I can say they are for my carpal tunnel or something? Any ideas? Thanks!

  • Buy rhinestones, flowers or any other cute decorations from a craft store and make them girly.

    :)

Tell them a little kid gave them to you and you promised to wear them when asked about them.

  • If you're gonna wear the sea bands you're probably gonna have to spill the beans.

You could say you're going to workout and wear a sweatband too! hehe.

Yeah, one of my coworkers had bad m/s and was wearing them to work. Made it pretty easy to figure out what was going on (though of course none of us said a word about it until she officially told everyone she was pregnant) -- but we were her coworkers, not her family. Family tend to be more nosy with the personal questions, generally speaking.

  • Yeah, if you really don't want them to know, skip the sea bands. Plus, they didn't work for me. I read some studies show it's a placebo effect. So that ruined it for me.

  • Say something like you have an inner ear infection and your dizzy / vertigo and it's a pressure point thing that helps with the dizziness.

Any grandma worth her salt would sniff out that hookey in a second.

  • I would either not wear them or be honest.  For the day you could switch to b6, or sea bands makes this amazing ginger gum.

If you lie now and say it's for something stupid, you're going to look stupid.  Most people will figure it out and I'm sure at least some will be hurt that you lied to them.  Don't expect those who are hurt to be super excited when you do tell them.

This. Wear them in the car before but not while there. It might suck but take it easy and take some b6.

  • My vote is for rockin' 80s sweatbands!  Yay baby!
Proud Momma to two beautiful children!!!

  • I thought maybe I could pass them off as rocker-ish. Nope, within THREE MINS of walking in my office, 2 girls knew what was up.

  • Anyone who has been pregnant before will know, there is no hiding it.
  • Yeah I guess you're right. Ugh. I've been wearing long sleeves, so no problem with that!!

B6 helps a little, but I puked twice the other day so I went with these and continued the B6.

I'm sure my Mom would figure it out, but MIL and stepmom might not...

Blah. Thanks for the help though!

  • I'd take them off then tell everyone your green appearance is from a stomach virus.

LOL! And now you have ruined it for her!

  • Wearing the sea bands at work is how my boss/co-workers found out.  I ended up spilling the beans way before I was ready.  Plus, the bands didn't work for me.

Maybe you can blame the bands on a stomach virus or something else...
