I've been showing her the sign for a few months, and today when I asked her if she needed to go, she waved her hand back and forth in a similar motion as the sign. When I took her in to the bathroom, she went!! I know it could have been a coincidence, but she does closely watch me when I do the signs and she is a really bright little kid.
I was SO excited and proud of her (whether or not that is really what happened)!! Just wanted to share
Re: I *think* my baby signed "potty" to me today!!
That's awesome .. but she actually peed in the toilet?! I wish my kid did that. It sure would save alot of money.
awesome. keep on doing it!
DD signs "milk" and "dog" but we were never sure that she was actually doing it.
She did! If I hold her over the potty and go "psss pss pss" she will pee (if she has to). I read a great book when I was pregnant called "Diaper Free Baby" and it was really informative about early potty training and whatnot. She doesn't *always* go in the potty, but I think it's good for her to have an idea of her "options' so to speak. So that she knows that her diaper isn't the only place to go pee. It's an interesting book. Highly recommended.
