stinky stump

Is it normal for the stump to stink before it falls off? We saw the dr yesterday and he said it looked like it had another week before it falls off. I just noticed the smell tonight. Anyone else have this happen?

right before the stump actually falls off, it smells!! At least if you don't wash it off with alcohol.

Yup. We were told not to use alcohol on it until it falls off, so you have to deal with the stench!

DS's stump started stinking and then fell off the next day. Thank goodness, because it was really rank!
