I'm making a cake tonight that has to be transported 150 miles. The cake can't be too extravagant because of this and the fact that I have to assemble it onsite. The cake is poker themed and it will be green, black, white and red with large diamonds, spades, clubs and hearts. I've already made some of the decorations for it, but the cards and chips are so time consuming that I'm considering just buying plastic chips and real cards. It's for my mom's husband's 80th birthday, so it's not a paying job, but I'd like it to be nice for him. Would you be put off with real cards and chips being on your cake or should I continue to make edible ones?
Re: Need some opinions about a cake...
