Hello-
I was recently diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I'm starting my diet and testing tomorrow. What do you ladies eat for breakfast. I'm not too big on eggs first thing in the morning and I'm stuck on what else I can eat. The suggestions on my menu don't seem to appealing!
Thanks!
Re: GD and breakfast
I make a toasted pb&j.... use the natural peanut butter or almond butter, sarah lee light and fit 45 cal bread (low carb too) and sugar free jelly or jam. It's about 27 total carbs. If I'm still hungry I grab a string cheese to go too... still all under 30 total carbs (my max). I usually have a class of crystal light or some iced green tea to wash it down.
Another one I like is 1c. of cottage cheese with a small handful of blueberries or a cup of sugar-free peaches tossed in.
Sorry, I'm no help. I've had eggs every morning for 10 weeks...and sometimes for dinner too.
Usually I make a home made egg mcmuffin, or have scrambled eggs with Eggo Nutri-grain waffles and sugar free syrup.

I eat on the run so I've been having 2 Eggo Whole Grain Low Fat waffles with a banana or some strawberries. I'm not really supposed to have fruit with breakfast, but it doesn't affect my numbers. If I'm at home I'll have a bowl of cereal (100 calories or less per serving) and skim milk with a piece of whole wheat toast.
GL!
This is me too. Ugh so sick of eggs. Greek yogurt sounds good, I'll try that, I love cottage cheese and fruit, but no fruit for me in the morning. Cruel, cruel GD...
I do well with oatmeal made with water and stir in some redi whip. I can't do milk, cerial, or fruit at all in the morning or i fail my meal number. I also can do an english muffin with PB as long as I have 4 slices of bacon with it. If I do an english muffin with nothing on it and no bacon - just butter - I fail.
I also found some good sugar free orange drink that I "pretend" is OJ.
