Anyone have a 2005? We want the newer body style, but since my husband wants an EX-L the 2005 is what will fit in our budget. If you have one what are your thoughts? Love it? Dislikes? Thanks ladies!
We have an older Odyssey and apparently they're notorious for having transmission issues. We had our rebuilt already and Cleo's deciding whether to get hers fixed or not.
I don't know if the more recent models have these problems or not, but definitely find out before you make a decision. It's an expensive problem to have.

All of the years are starting to blend together and I don't have the paperwork in front of me, but I think it was either 2004's and younger or 2003's and younger with those issues. Thanks for the heads up though!! My DH is a big researcher so fortunately he looks at all of that stuff.
When my DH was researching for us in 2007, the Odyssey still had the transmission issues. Honda was giving out lifetime drivetrain warranties at the time. We just had to decide if we wanted to risk buying one that could potentially be in the shop more than driven.

Oh, good! It's a great car otherwise. We love it.

We have an '02 with about 110k miles....I've not had any issues, and it will be a year ago in May that we bought it. Honestly Femme/Cleo are the only 2 ppl I've heard talk about tranny issues....and I'm sure DH researched well -he was intense in his search for the 'perfect' one for about 3 weeks. Not that I'm doubting it, he just never brought it up to me during that time.
DH is a Honda/Acura mechanic and says it is one of the best vehicles on the road. His only gripe is the Touring runflat tire package. I have a TL and he has an Accord. He would give them both up for an Odyssey, but I wont do it until we have more than 1 kid. He wanted an Odyssey 5 yrs ago, before kids were even a thought.

Do the used vans include the warranty?
