  • Thats a hard one!  For me, its a tie between 2, 3, 4 and 9.  Im sure that is of no help, lol!

  • Do you guys think that a floral print is OK for a black tie wedding?

  • I think #3 and #7 are too showy for a wedding.  I always stick to simple, yet elegant dresses for weddings, so I know I won't draw attention away from the bride at all.  That being said, I think most of the others up there would be perfectly fine.  And floral would be fine too as long as it the fabric is "fancy" (ie no cotton).
  • It was a tie between 2 and 7 for me. 9 is gorgeous, but despite the length it looks less formal than the other ones for me.

  • I like 4 6 and 9
  • I wouldn't do short for black tie-ever.

I like #7 by leaps and bounds.  It's very elegant.

  • Like PP said, I would definately do long for a black tie affair.  And #7 is my fav too.

Agreed :) I also love #2! Is it the same dress as 7 just in a different color?

Also, FWIW, Europeans tend to be more formal when it comes to black tie events (my entire family is in Belgium so this is coming from a Belgian perspective ;) No way would I wear a short dress to a black tie wedding in Europe! I think it's more acceptable in the US, though I still prefer long.

  • I love #7. I'm a huge fan of one shoulder and a huge fan of ruffles:)
  • #7

  • The Brits are indeed more formal; you need to go with a long gown for a black tie wedding.

    Have a great trip!!

  • I voted #8 because it will elongate you.  #7 looks great on the model, but given that you're only 5'2" I think that the ruffles will look like too much on your frame.

Ditto PP that even in the States, true black-tie means you need to wear a long dress.
