How are the boys sleeping? We are going to restart Ferber tonight if I can work up the nerve. Pray we don't have to go to straight CIO, I don't know if I have the nerves for that.
Sisterkate: you said you introduced the seahorse when you Ferbered? Did you just turn it back on when you did checks or leave it in there with him?
Re: *sisterkate and melissamc*
Hi Meredith
Tyler is sleeping wonderfully most nights. I can usually get anywhere from 10.5 to 11.5 hours out of him, depending on the day. The better nights happen when he's napped better during the day. If he's overtired or hasn't napped well, then the nights are a little rougher (more wakeups). I will say, though, that even on the nights with a wakeup or two, he usually settles himself back down. Only rarely do DH or I have to go in there and if we do, it's just to shush/comfort him and leave once and then he goes back to sleep.
We did introduce the seahorse when we Ferbered. When we first started Ferber, I'd turn it on at every check unless it was already on (entirely possible since it plays for 7 minutes). I always, always, always leave it in there with him. I leave it next to his cheek (the backside, soft side). He snuggles up against the satiny part. He's now learning how to turn it on himself, which I am really excited about. He can't do it often and but he's done it by accident a couple times. I find it all over the crib when I check on him and when he wakes up in the morning. Sometimes it's above his head, sometimes it's on his other cheek, sometimes he is holding it. I make sure to use it for both naps and bedtime and I think it's made a huge difference. He also has a little stuffed elephant that he loves so I think the concept of a lovey has helped him a lot.
Good luck this weekend. I don't envy you having to do it again.

Haha. I'm sure I'll be getting that and more this weekend. She is a stubborn little girl!
hey!
Sawyer is doing well. We hit a rough patch when he had roseola, but he is better now. He wakes 1-3X or so a night and just needs the paci. SO much better than the 5 times we used to do and I had to nurse everytime.
He also has the seahorse, we use it when he seems to be more "awake" and needs to get back to sleep. If he is almost complteley asleep and I turn it on, he will push himself up to look at it.
We like ours.
GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!!!!!! and report back tomorrow!
