Anyone know anything about these facilities? I believe there are two in Hoover and at least one in Huntsville.
We've had a daycare lined up since well before Sarah was born, but we're now considering other options for medical reasons (specifically, smaller class sizes).
Re: Covenant Classical School and Daycare?
I was highly considering CC here in Huntsville but ended up going somewhere else, and I'm glad I did.
One thing about CC is that they are not required to abide by DHR regulations because of their religious affiliation (Which I understand so are church day cares - but many times they still will). The one in huntsville Did not.
Avery's infant teacher used to work at the one here and would shudder at the mere mention of the facility.
Also - a friend of mine took her son there for two days... after two days of them FORGETTING TO FEED him - she took him elsewhere.
I'm sure the other ones are different but I thought I'd let you know what I've heard about the ones here.
Kristi - have you thought about an in-home sitter? Although it's not an actual daycare, they often have much, much fewer children.
Since she was 3 months old Kennedy has been going to a sitter where the only other child is the sitter's son. Amy0887 is about to start bringing her son to the same sitter, but even then, there will only be 3 children, total.
That sort of situation might be something to look into.

It sounds like the one in Huntsville might not be all that great - but I encourage you to look into the ones in Birmingham! We'll be sending LO to the CCS&D in Southlake. I like that it's a school and not just daycare. The A-beka curriculum also comes highly reccomended to me by a bunch of teacher friends of mine.
All of the teachers were really nice and everyone was very patient with me and all my crazy new mom questions.
I'll probably DD this post later just because I don't want it up on the internet later where my kid will be 8 hours a day
I have, but finding one I'm comfortable with...where do I even start? Good grief, this shouldn't be so hard!!
I have a friend whose son attended one of the Hoover location and she raved about it then and still recommends it to others. I would consider it if made sense logistically for us. But we don't live, nor does DH or I work even close to Hoover.
I'm not sure... could you ask around with other parents of LOs? Maybe some of your DH's coworkers, people through church, your neighborhood, etc? Is there a parenting board specifically for Birmingham? (We have one in Tuscaloosa called Tuscmoms.com and it is a great resources for this sort of thing.) You also might check out www.care.com.
