Two Under 2

Did you have to buy two of the same toy?

My DD is 20 months and my DS is 2 months, I was wondering anyone found that they had to buy two of the same toys?  Are there things that your first child still plays with that you thought it was best just to buy another one for your second child?  Like riding toys.

  • No, they can share.  We don't really refer to them as "your toy" or "his toy" - they are "their toys."

  • I find as they get older, you need two (or three!) of the same toys!  It saves the headache!  When they were younger it was a lot easier but now they all want what the other has!  If I buy the same thing, I try to get things in different colors.  My older two were actually fighting over a bathing suit the other day!  So now we have two of the same bathing suits, different sizes!  Also two of the same sandals!
