  It varies with each esthetician and whatever type of facial you're getting.  Mine's does all of the above as well as extraction and exfoliation.  Extractions tend to be the most painful but there are some out there that do it much gentler than others.  What I did at my first time was let the person know it was my first time.  She was really good about telling me everything she was about to do and how it would feel on my face.

  If you have a pimple, blackhead, whatever, they remove it with this little tool. I have it done a couple of times during facials, it never hurt me.

  The spa I go to also does a paraffin wax on your hands, it's heaven! I've got one scheduled for next week!
