Inappropriate T-shirts

The minivan post got me thinking about this. I often see people in Target or Walmart wearing T-shirts that say things like "Back the Fuuck off" ,"What are you looking at Assshole?" or "If you can read this, Fuuck you" and it really irritates me. I don't want my kid reading your dirty T-shirt (yes, I know she can't read yet), but come on. Yes, I can be a prude at times. But, please keep your dirty T-shirts for special ocassions like nights at the strip club, wrestling matches, or monster truck ralleys.

Re: Inappropriate T-shirts

  • Yes  I agree 100%.  Especially since I have a son that can read!
  • Loading the player...
  • LOL!!  Yep, totally agree.  Those are so tacky.  Maybe I'm a snob, but I don't care.  When you kid can read, think of it as a teaching tool -- what not to wear.
  • Oh stop. What are you going to censor life for your child? Either look at it as a conversation starter to talk about class with your child when they are older, or shop somewhere nicer, like wholefoods.
  • I especially hate inappropriate/trashy saying on kids and baby shirts.
  • "But, please keep your dirty T-shirts for special ocassions like nights at the strip club, wrestling matches, or monster truck ralleys. "

LMAO, and you know thats probably exactly where they bought in the first place!

  • Forget T-shirts. I have a neighbor who was cursing at her 2 year old the other day. I was in shock.
  • This is one of my biggggggest pet peeves- especially on kids/babies. I don't even like the "attitude" shirts like, "I'm a diva". No, you're not. You're a baby!

The worst was a girl with her baby at a little party we went  to. It was a black onesie that said, "Watch your f**kin mouth! I'm a baby!" Why in the world would you put that on a sweet baby girl?!

I will have no problem talking to my children about anything. I will not put blinders on them, thank you. There are just certain things that are inappropriate for public view.

Your poor grammar and lack of apostrophes always gives you away.

  • In Korea, there are a TON of shirts like that, but a lot of the ppl don't understand what they mean. 1 Korean girl was wearing a shirt that says "I see you've met the twins". My boyfriend's friend started laughing and she was asking why. They explained the shirt and she covered it up and was soooo embarrassed!
  • Totally agree with you! I cant stand it when people are so offensive. It's not cool.
  • I dont mind them too much on adults.  On kids and babies, that is a whole different story.

It's one thing to be offended by a shirt...but is that really necessary? I'm going definitely agree that you're a prude.

Did I say I was offended? No, they just bother me. If they don't bother you, go buy one.

  • I don't mind them on adults all that much depending on the shirt and where we are. I realyl don't think it's ok for kids to wear them though. When I see little ones in stuff like that I always think thier parent's are probably immature tools. lol

  • I agree...that annoys me.  Bumper stickers like that annoy me as well.

I wasn't talking about the shirts...I just didn't think your last sentence was very necessary.

My point with the last sentence was. Keep them away from children if you are wearing them. That is all.

  • I'm a 5th grade teacher and this thread got me thinking about some of the t-shirts my students have worn.

One had little bumblebees on the shirt and it said "I'm a bee-otch".

Another said "Looking is free.  It'll cost you to touch".

    Someone must've stolen mommy's t-shirt!

    Yes

  • Eh, they dont really bother me.  Maybe when i get older and DD can read my mind will change.  And i actually find some of the baby ones funny.  Its not like they know what they are wearing.
