I'm pretty sure they are saying they won't LEAVE lo to cry fro 7 hours. LO cries that long, but I would never put her down for 7 hours and walk away.

I would never let my baby cry for seven hours!!! We would just sit down and have an adult conversation about how you should only cry when something is wrong, and then everything would be peachy! What's your problem, Murf, didn't you try that?

I think we have communication issues. I am going to try the adult coversation again!

LMBO...I just about fell out my chair laughing. All though LO has had very serious sounding comments on my mothering skills when she is displeased with my attempts ...

DH sometimes holds Olivia while she's crying and tells her to use her words, so he knows what's wrong.  Makes me laugh everytime, cause she will stop look at him for a minute and cry louder!

  • I try to give my advice but I'll admit, even I have no idea what I'm doing lol. I get infront of my MIL and DD starts fussing and if I can't get her to calm down I feel like I'm a failure as a mother in her eyes... and she only ever gives me 2 minutes to calm her down before trying to rip her out of my arms.. I hate that.

My FFFC.. I am so embarressed by DD. She has man farts and she'll fart everywhere and people think it's me!!! Oh and they smell HORRIBLE. lol.

    Yes

You have no idea what the hell I am talking about. I don't leave DS for 7hrs but I hold him while he cries for 7hrs. Sometimes walking away for 10 minutes to take a deep breath is healthy and safer!

I am more irritated with people giving me crappy advice to make DS stop crying. If I am at my wits end don't you think I have tried everything and more?

you didn't even read the OP that stemmed all this. Quit whining.

i'm pretty sure this started this morning. Are you talking about the poster who let a 3 day old CIO for 45 minutes? If not, fill us in on what you are talking about.

  • Sometimes you attempt everything and your newborn will still cry...that does not mean you leave her to cry alone...then you just hold her, or take turns with DH holding her and keep trying. No one is saying a newborn is not going to cry...it's leaving a newborn alone to cry...whether or not they are able to show it...being held while crying is a huge comfort to them.
  • Pretty sure there was not one specific post I was referring to...just in general. Did I say in my OP that I was talking about a specific post?

Ok, I thought you were talking abotu the drama that has blown up the board today...which is about CIO. I agree that walking away for 10 minutes to get your sanity is sometimes necessary.

I'm sorry I'm not a mind reader....and assume that this fits into the context of what the board is talking about right now.

Me too! I think if you're a regular Bumpie and you say you've tried everything, people should not suggest basic things like "did you try swaddling". Don't know how you would regulate that though. As far as IRL goes, I just smile and go on about my day.
