Aggressive eater... help possible?

My little man is a very aggressive eater.

He's a good burper but poots all the time and gets hiccups after each feeding. He's not colicy because of the gas and only get frustrated with the hiccups if they go on too long. He latches on great. He wakes up starving and screaming for the boob - I can't get it out fast enough for him.

That being said, I would still like to help him out. Is there anything I can do to get him to calm down and not be so aggressive so he doesn't swallow so much air? Does anybody else have this issue?

  • I have this issue, along with many other issues. The only thing I can recommend is to feed more frequently so he's not 'starving'.

  • I had the same problem.  All I can say is it did get better with age.  He still screams and now he tries to latch on through my shirt!  But, his burping and hiccups have calmed down.
