On another board I am on... my 'Sister' just found out today that her baby boy has down's (she is 28 weeks pregnant). I want to send her something. Our baking committee is sending her sweets. But I want to send her something special. Flowers, someithng? Any ideas?

although he may not be "perfect" he's going to be so precious to them!
something to remind her that he is still coming and he is going to be so special.
maybe you could find something meaningful....
like a frame that says something that fits the situation...
or an outfit or keepsake that is appropriate.
that is really hard news to hear.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I don't think you should do anything. I don't have any firsthand experience, but I just think doing something like that would only make it worse. I realize your intentions are good, but I think you should just be there as her friend for support when she needs you. Cards, flowers, gifts, those are all things you do when someone dies. The only gift I would give her would be what you would get her as a regular baby shower gift. Her pg and her baby should be celebrated in the same way as any other.
