My freakin Medela breast pump broke - just outside the warranty, of course. For the past two weeks, I've thought my production was tanking and I was sad, but then I figured out that my pump was just not sucking like it used to. On Sunday, we were in Dallas for a wedding without Jackson, so I was only pumping and I woke up with a huge lump in my boob of clogged milk because the pump was just not getting "deep" enough if that makes sense. I had to send DH to Walgreens to buy a manual pump, which was much better despite the carpal tunnel I now have.
I went into Special Addition yesterday and they found a little crack in one of the pieces that, of course, cannot be replaced. She said if I trade in the broken one and use my old tubes, etc., I'll get $60 off a new one. But, she said since Jackson is 11 months now, I can also just back off the pumping and let him eat more solid food at daycare and nurse at night and in the morning. I am a little sad about that option, but I also hate to drop $205 on a new pump if he is or should be about to stop taking so much milk. I'll happily buy a new one and keep on a-pumpin' if that is best for him, but I don't want to force a bottle on him past the appropriate time. He was taking 3 7-oz bottles per day at daycare, but I dropped them to 6-oz when the pump started slowing down and he didn't complain. I know we are getting close to the time to switch from bottle to sippy cup and I doubt he will drink as much that way. Any thoughts??

Thanks for the sweet offer! I ended up buying one that same day, because I was in so much pain - it was worth the $200! I got $60 off for trading in the pump and using my old parts and $20 off for the pump check, so it was only $205. I'll definitely need it for #2 and I am not ready to go exclusively to whole milk in the next two weeks, so I figured I should just bite the bullet. Thanks for the feedback!
