Your favorite children's songs
Aubrey loves to be sung to. It is seriously the one guaranteed way to get her to settle down when she is having a melt down. I feel like I sing the same ones over and over to her because I am totally blanking on songs.
The ones I sing to her are:
You are my sunshine
The wheels on the bus
Old Macdonald
The Itsy Bitsy Spider
Um yeah that's pretty much all I got. I sometimes sing the K.C. and the Sunshine band's song Shake Your Booty to her and she laughs her head off..kinda reminds me of that Friends episode where Rachel and Ross get Emma to laugh by singing Baby Got Back to her. But anyway

I don't know yet what I'm going to like to sing to her since she's not here yet. However, my mom bought me a bunch of adult friendly kids CD's to listen to when she gets here. It's stuff that won't make your ears bleed like a lot of children's music. Some of my favorites are Jerry Garcia & David Grissman, Ziggy Marley, Johnny Cash, Jack Johnson, Sarah McLachlin, Peter, Paul and Mary, and then I have a few others that I'm not quite as fond of.
Playtime we sing:
Pat-a-Cake (I guess its more of a game)
Boom Boom Ain't It Great to be Crazy (and tons of other Barney songs--he doesn't watch Barney, but my niece loved him when she was little, so I still remember ALL of the songs--it's a blessing and a curse)
Bushel and a Peck
Froggy Went-a-Courtin
Little White Duck
Head, Shoulders, Knees, Toes
If All the Raindrops
Wow, I could go on and on...it might help to say that I randomly burst into song at any given moment. Seriously.

I know that I pulled up a lot of lyrics to songs on the internet so I could not just hum the music. It was funny I end up singing a lot of Xmas songs b/c I do know all the words. LOL

I changed the lyrics of My Girl to My Boy, changed Super Freak to Super Stink (diaper changing song), and changed I've Got A Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas to be a bath time song.
I mostly sing whatever pops into my head..kid friendly or not.
I need to get a CD of children's songs so I can learn more of them. My repertoire is seriously limited.

I don't know that we listen to enough kids songs. DS really likes Keith Urban, Black Eyed Peas and I'm so embarrassed about this but he really, really likes the song Tik Tok. Only because I took him to Aubie tryouts and they played it for all 12 Aubies and so he truly thinks that's Aubie's song. ***Hanging head in shame***
