When did you stop offering 24 cal formula?

My boys are still on enfacare that I mix to 24 cals. They have a dr.s appt next week and I will ask the dr. then. Just curious when you stopped.

They seem to be gaining weight really well, they are eating 6-7 oz 4 x's a day and we also give them some solids for lunch, about 2 tbs for each baby.

The size 2 diapers we have using have started leaking at night, so I think it's a sign that they are growing and need to move up to size 3.

    I stopped at around 8 months when he was eating a lot more solids.

    Our NICU actually stopped it before she came home.  Our NICU was using a human made milk fortifier ($$$$$$$) so they didn't want us to have to pay for it.  But they were really happy with her weight gain at the end of her stay.  She was on Neosure until she was about 6 months actual.  Pedi was happy with her growth so he switched her to regular formula.

    We were on it until about 5 months actual.  When she made it solidly on the growth charts (atual age) we were allowed to stop.  What hospital were you at?  We were at the Brigham.

    Hopefully my boys will be on the charts next week.

    Aiden came off about 3 weeks ago. He was gaining 12 ounces a week and his pedi thought he would gain fine on 22 cal.

    4 months, but we switched to soy Similac Isomil from Neosure.  His weight and growth really took off once we realized he needed to be soy.  It helped his reflux too.

    We were in nicu B at first and then moved to A.  DId your babies go to the intermediate nursery (A) right away or were the intensive (B and C) nurseries full when they were born?  I had hellp as well. 

    They started out in C and then moved to A a couple of weeks later. Most of the nurses were really nice and caring. Isn't it crazy how fast things progressed with hellp? To this day I cannot smell purell without re-living L&D  while on magnesium, blech! :)

    DD is still on 24 cal formula (actually more like 27 cal since we also add duocal).  she is barely in the 5th percentile for her adjusted age so she is on it indefinitely.

    DD was off by 2 months.  The neosure was wreaking havoc on her system, and the fortifier was so $$ that our insurance wouldn't cover it.  Turns out she actually started to gain weight faster off of it.

    This, except DD's not on duocal.
