Costco

I'm making a trip to Costco with my sister today (She's a member)....I ONLY want to get a few things that I know are good deals.  I plan to get some things for DH's lunches but would like to get a few good deals while I'm there.  Any tips ladies?

Re: Costco

  • Need any batteries?  Diapers and wipes?  Synthetic motor oil?

I love the Kirkland pre-cooked bacon.  I keep it in my freezer and I microwave a couple of slices when I want a BLT or a breakfast treat.

  • I think I'm the only person who uses this stuff for personal use but their Commercial-Sized powder laundry detergent. That thing lasts half a year!

If you google "Costco coupons," you can find a list of the current ones so you can see what's REALLY on a good sale right now.

  • I get their skinless/boneless chicken breasts and freeze them.  They are way less expensive than the chain grocery store's.

Their pork chops are to die for!  They come in packs of 9 chops which are big enough that I butterfly and freeze.  Doing that, I get 18 pork chops for 15 bucks.

Occasionally we'll get their filet tenderloin, also very good and tender for a great price comparatively  to a grocery chain.  It's more work cutting, and storing to freeze, but so worth it.

I get the ziplock press and seal and wrap each piece of meat in that then put them in a ziplock freezer bag.  For just me and MH, the meat will last us 3-4 months.

  • Orowheat loaves are cheaper and bigger.  Organic eggs.  Produce, but you have to be able to eat it all.  Some of the toiletries are good buys.  The organic chicken is decent.  I also like the giant jar of organic strawberry jam.  Soy milk.

  • Ditto on the pre-cooked bacon and the Orowheat loaves of bread!!!

24ct. eggs are HALF what I pay at Safeway and 2 gallons of milk are just pennies more than 1 gallon!

I also buy the 2pk Organic Ketch-up and 2pk Skippy Peanut butter, 3 150ct Lysol wipes, Organic tomato paste, Organic Annie's bunny fruit snacks, Redbull by the case, Holy Guacamole 3pk, Mexican-blend shredded cheese, 60ct. string cheese, Halibut fillets, Flank steak, pork tenderloin, baby back ribs, and drumsticks, trash bags, Ziploc freezer bags (in all sizes), paper plates, Veuve Cliquot champagne and some wines, dried cranberries, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, black pepper corns, and several other things that I just can't think of right now because the per ounce/pound/unit price is cheaper than anything I've found at my local grocery stores.
