Doppler Question

in 2nd Trimester

So bought a doppler (the sonoline b from amazon) and I have had NO luck.  It's frustrating.  I should be far enough along to hear it and I just heard it earlier this week at the Dr.'s.  Whats the trick?  slow?  fast?  circle, steady?  what am I don't wrong?  TIA

    I have the same one and I've had it a couple of week with no problem at all.  I listen to the baby daily and find it right away.  My deal is just having to find where the baby is.  Lately though he's always in the same position...or just about.  My advice is use lots of ultrasound gel and just be really slow.  You might have to press pretty hard to find the baby but don't give up.

    If you are hearing NOTHING make sure the probebis plugged in all the way. Mine wasn't. Start above public bone and slowly tilt left/right. If nothing move the probe a little and try again.

    I was having a hard time finding the hb too. I am borrowing my friends dopplerso I emailed her to see what the heck I was doing wrong!  She sent me this website that shows how high your uterus is at each week.  Here is the link:

    that's girls I'll take your advise and try again.  I know it's still there I just heard an amazing one on Wed. at the Dr.  Hope I can hear it on my own!

    I have the same one and had my first success today! I have a bit of a belly pre pregnancy so that's probably why it took a little longer. My doc was able to pic it up on doppler though at my 12 week appt. I hear it can take even 15 weeks or longer to get it at home. Make sure you're using it just above your pubic bone, baby is still low at this point. Good luck!
