Last year it was a non-issue because Lil J did not see her for months after placement.
We do face-to-face meetings every visit day, which because of cancellations on her part, is about once a month.
We have court the day after Mother's Day, but she has NEVER shown up for court (6 times already), so I doubt she will show up to this one.
Would you send a card?
Some of you may ask - why should I even care? there are many reasons, but I am not gonna get into to the details.
But, part of me thinks that *MAYBE* if I am nice to her, she might not fight the termination of her rights. Termination will happen, without question. But - she would still have the right to appeal.
So - card?
Re: Should I send a Mother's Day card?
That's tough!!! I would but thats just me...I would want her to know that I do care about her. You are not the one terminating her rights and you are a mom. It may also reinforce that fact that Lil J is in a good home and that you are a caring, compassionate person. I would not spend a fortune, in fact I got my card for BM at the dollar store. Short a sweet from the child!! If there is any chance you can maintain a good relationship I would do whatever it takes! Sometimes the littlest things make life that much easier.
Good Luck!
thank you - I think I will send one
My Blog
ditto. We'll be sending one to BM for the same reasons.
