Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I'm holding her too much

and that's why she doesn't sleep enough at night.

As I have just been so informed by my MIL.

Sigh...

Re: I'm holding her too much

  • Thank God MIL's know everything. What would we do without them?

  • I hear you on the MIL front.  They came this weekend and the weekend before.  She plucked him out of my grandmother's arms this weekend when he was crying.  I could have killed her!!  She is such a baby nazi!!
  • I've been lucky that I live far away from my family and haven't had to defend my parenting style much.  Not only are we visiting family for a week starting Friday, but we are going to be moving closer to family for a year in a few months.  I will be living w/ my grandparents while DH is in training.  God help me!

I'm curious, what did you say back?

  • at least it's your MIL & not your H telliing you that.

hold your baby as much as you want

  • I second the holding her as much as you want.  They are only this little once:)
  • Baby is sleeping on my lap right now after nursing (passed out on the Boppy actually haha).  MIL suggested we put her in the carseat to sleep.  I said no.

I carried her for 9+ months, I want her near me.  I don't see how holding a three week old baby can do any harm.  She cries when she's alone and I don't blame her.

  • Holding her too much cannot harm her at all.  You hold her all you want!
  • my  aunt told me not to go to church, bc people like to "pass babies around" and its not right.. WTF?

  • me too... but my mom was the one who told me that... and my grandma ;)
