  General Rule of thumb is a hospital grade pump will help BUILD supply, whereas a less grade pump will help MAINTAIN supply.

   Also, a hospital grade pump will not let Breastmilk penetrate the motor...which means that it can be multi-user (as long as the tubing etc is replaced)...but a lesser grade pump can let breastmilk enter the motor...which makes it possible to spread infection through breastmilk

  In my experience, the hospital grade pumps are faster.  I could get close to the same amount of milk with a regular pump, but it took twice as long.
