Babies: 3 - 6 Months

What do you wear?

looking ahead and hoping my pouch starts to fade soon...

What the heck do you wear everyday... especially if you're working and bfing?

I'm heading back to work soon, my tops are wayy too tight at the bust and my pouch is making me rock the muffin top.

Any weekend wear/work wear ideas?

Re: What do you wear?

  • I have to wear scrubs at work. But I make sure and wear a v neck tank underneath for pumping ease. I wear jeans and sweaters almost every day. It's still cold here. I have a belly band to prevent extra muffin top even though I'm close to prepregnancy size.

  • I'm not really sure what you're looking for. I wear normal work clothes. My office is business casual, jeans are ok.

When I was pumping, I would wear nursing bras every day.

I don't fit into my prepreg clothes, so I bought new ones (2 sizes larger).

  • Unfortunatley i am still rockin' the small mat slacks for the most part...I also went and bought a size larger shells/camis to go under my suit jackets.
  • I had to replace all of my work clothes (and weekend clothes!) before going back to work. I am at my pre-pregnancy weight.....but none of my clothes fit, my chest is too big and my hips are wider apparently. It was expensive, and I now have a pathetically small wardrobe, I literally had to replace everything.

Also, I pump at work and just always wear a nursing bra.

  • Oh yea! I can fit into my old shirts, but boy do I ever rock the muffin top... It was like that before being pregnant though!
  • I may not be too much help because I'm still wearing my maternity pants. boo! But I'm working on it.  I just refuse to buy bigger regular clothes and can't fit into my old stuff yet.  Tops, I usually wear regular stuff with nursing tanks underneath. Lots of cardigans and easier access tops.  I got a few nursing shirts, but I don't think they're necessary.

  • I'm a stay at home mom, I have 8 more pound to lose so I totally know about the muffin top!  I wear low rise jeans a size up since that stops the muffin top a little, but I have to wear a looser top.  I just bought some shirts from Target since all my old ones are too small since I'm breastfeeding.  I am losing weight slowly so hopefully most of my old stuff will fit soon.  I also invested in some Spanx which I highly recommend.  Look at the HIgher Power.  They cinch your waist in and it really helps fit into everything and keep you holding your stomach in.  Might be a good investment for work!  They make you at least a size smaller!

And oh yeah, I got a slimmer/girdle thing to wear around my tummy.  it just gives me smoother lines under my shirts. This is the one I got: https://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=362390&CategoryID=27305

  • I actually like the maternity t-shirts, the ones that look like reg. t-shirts but are longer than the non maternity ones. Old navy are the ones I like the best.

  • It sounds like you just need to go shopping.  You're never going to feel good or be comfortable in things that are too small.  Cardigans (with nursing tanks) are great if you'll be pumping, and sundresses with cardis are very easy and flattering for spring/summer.
