High-Risk Pregnancy

Put on bedrest.

Just got out of the hospital I have a dilated a generous 1 cm and 30% thinned out. I have to take procardia every 6 hours and am on bed rest. I have never been so bored in my life.

Re: Put on bedrest.

  • i'm so sorry! i know how tough it is. i've been on bedrest for 6 days and have 138 to go to get to full term but we're doing what we have to for our babies!

take it easy and follow doctor's orders to keep baby safe! i joined a board this week that has been a great support to me. it's full of women on bedrest. check it out if you get a chance!

    Thanks heading that way:)

  • I hope the time passes quickly and LO stays inside!
  • The first week is the hardest... I cried a lot just because I felt so lost and it was so unexpected. ?It does get a little easier hubby and I are in a routine now and tonight since he wants to go fishing he is bringing me to my mom's to lay over there for a change of scenery and she will make ?me dinner the doctor said as long as I lay down when I get there it is fine. ?Hang in there and good luck I wish I could say there was something that magically made time fly. ?I now look forward to doctor appointments just to get out.

I cried a lot just because I felt so lost and it was so unexpected.  It does get a little easier hubby and I are in a routine now and tonight since he wants to go fishing he is bringing me to my mom's to lay over there for a change of scenery and she will make  me dinner the doctor said as long as I lay down when I get there it is fine.  Hang in there and good luck I wish I could say there was something that magically made time fly.  I now look forward to doctor appointments just to get out.

I am already looking forward to my doctor's appointment next Wensday. Good luck to you.

  • HUGS!!! I have 11 days hoping for 72 more!
  • I agree, the first week is the hardest. If you can get into a routine that really helps. Also just trying to find as many small projects to work on as possible. I have several knitting things going, I read a lot and I started a blog just to have an outlet.

We also have a daily check-in on this board. Good luck and get lots of rest for that baby! It will all pass.

  • I'm sorry you have to go through this - it's definitely not what any of us would like!  I have been on bed rest for 12 weeks now, and although it REALLY SUCKS, it does get better!!  The first few weeks are the hardest, and then you do start to get into a routine, and the days start to go by faster.  Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress!
  • I am sorry to hear this but LO is better for it!

I have been on bedrest for a week now and I agree with people, the first week is the worst.  Today was nice because I was able to go to my doctors appointment (they went well) and stop by Target quickly to grab a mothers day card and something comfy to wear!

It feels good when you go to your doctors appointments after a hard week and they tell you that its working and LO is doing well.  It makes it all worth it!

  • I have been on now for abotu 3 weeks and it's looking like it will only be a total of 4. I definitely look forward to the doctor's appointments just for getting out. I don't know about the first week being the hardest though, I can't imagine how hard it must be for the women that have to be on bedrest for several months. I already miss my previously active lifestyle and now I'm worried about coming off of bedrest because of being so sedentary.
