A woman (doctor) at work is getting married and my partner and I figured we weren't going to get an invite since most people already got them ~1month ago. We thought it was kinda weird since 1) she was invited to our wedding and 2) my partner is her boss so even though they're not close, it would have been kind of a political move. But the fiance is pretty religious so we thought his family would have a problem with a same sex couple being there maybe?
Anyway, an invite came today! -the wedding is 5/22. The RSVP says to respond by 4/22 (over a week ago!), so I think less people were able to come than she planned and we are in the sloppy second round of invitations lol. It is postmarked yesterday so it's not like it got lost in the mail.
We can't go anyway since we'll be out of town that weekend, but still-kinda weird...
Re: Kind of Tacky-NBR
Just to play devil's advocate...
Do you think it's possible that maybe your invitation was forgotten? Maybe they meant to send it out and didn't realize until recently that it hadn't been sent?
I would hope that if it's a 2nd round of invites, that they would have changed the RSVP dates on the invite.
Ew! Definitely tacky. I was going to say you could say something to her along the lines of "Funny! I just got the invite but it's a month past the RSVP date"... but what's the point, I guess.
Still, I think that that's pretty rude... sorry!

It's definitely possible since this woman is pretty flaky. But given the close nature of the office (everyone knew when the invites went out), if I were her I would have put a note in with it with an apology or said something in passing..I don't know. We're not close with her (obviously) so I'm not personally offended, just think it's bad etiquette either way.
lol, yeah that would be funny! I'm going to be a nice guest and just send back our "no" RSVP
Funny thing I remembered after posting this that we had to hound her for a yes or no to our wedding b/c she never mailed the reply card back!
