how long did you TTC for DC #1 and how long did it take you for DC #2?

I'm in no rush, but I wonder....b/c it took us 5 months TTC for DD - and I wonder if it typically takes longer the second time for others, shorter, or if there is any rhyme or reason to it at all anyway. What was your experience?

I'm sure once we decide to TTC, I'll expect it will take 5 months and I'll get a BFP right away or something...

It was a tiny bit quicker with #2, but virtually the same.

3 months with #1, 6 months with #2.

My BFF took 1.5 years for #1, and then got PG with #2 her 1st cycle off bcp. Not exactly the timing they were wanting or expecting.

#1 took over two year including a full year of fairly extensive fertility treatments.

#2 was a delightful surprise - I think it was the 3rd cycle after my pp returned.

You just never know!

i'm not a mom of 2 yet but

#1 = 7 months

#2 = surprise!

First cycle both times, much to DH's disappointment (he was hoping for a little more action).

About the same relatively speaking. I had the additional complication of miscarriages so it went like this

TTC 3 cycles - Missed M/C with D&C at 10 weeks then waited 3 months

TTC 1 cycle - Abby - waited 1.7 years

TTC 3 cycles - Natural M/C @ 5-6 weeks

TTC the very next cycle, mission accomplished - Emily

From a general survey of my friends, there appears to be no rhyme or reason at all ! But just like they say when people think they have 3 months before getting PG just off the pill. If you're no longer practicing safe sex you better be ready to get PG NOW

first pregnancy (m/c) : 1st month of BC/not avoiding

second pregnancy (m/c) : 2nd month TTC

DS : 2nd month TTC

DD : oops

1st time: we weren't trying, so I guess you could call that a first cycle pg

2nd time: first cycle as much as I can remember...pretty sad that I can't remember that!

1st pregnancy: 1st cycle--ectopic

2nd pregnancy: 9 cycles--m/c @ 6w2d

DS#1: 1st cycle (not meaning to try but not avoiding either)

DS#2: pleasant surprise :-)

One cycle with Meredith, four with Alex. I wasn't o'ing at all the second time around, and since I have PCOS, we went ahead and saw the doctor. He wanted to go ahead and try femara + a trigger shot, but to everyone's surprise, I o'd the next week, and we made Alex. Smile
