XP: I had my baby!

Hi everybody-

Our son was born at 6:35 pm on Monday night.  He weighed 8 lbs 2 oz & was up a 1/2 oz yesterday at his first pedi appt.  He's 20.5 inches long- the same weight as E was and a half inch longer.

I am not quite sure how long I was in labor (because DH had unplugged the clock in our bedroom!) but I think from start to finish it was probably 12 hrs or so including about 20 minutes of pushing.  It was SO much easier the 2nd time around & not being confined to a hospital bed made it so much better-  I can't even tell you how much better I feel now vs. how I felt after having Eloise.  Not having an IV, pitocin, etc. makes the recovery process so much easier!

We were allowed to leave the birth center like 3 hrs after he was born and we were home by 10:30 Monday night.  My parents brought Eloise to the birth center and she helped the midwife measure him before we all went home together. 

Everything is going well here at home, Eloise is adjusting well and the dogs are super curious, but everyone is getting along.

He is nursing like a maniac- he latched on like w/i 10 minutes of being born and nursed for a full hour before we came home and I swear he's attached to me like 22 hrs a day!
