DH and I were talking about this the other night (in relation to Elijah) and the abortion talk below got me thinking about it again.
When do you think the soul "attaches" (for lack of a better word) to a baby?
Disclaimer -- I'm not looking to start a religious or legal debate. I'm just curious to see if there's a consensus, based on what you all thought/felt with your own pregnancies.

Re: Soul Poll - Clicky
I guess so. The intangible thing that takes us from a collection of cells to a "person." In your opinion, when does the egg or fetus become a person?
It's not something I've spent a lot of time thinking about. And I don't consider myself as religious.
That being said, last summer one of our close friends was killed in a motorcycle accident. One of the things that automatically popped in my head to comfort myself was that J was in heaven with DS, telling him all about us and preparing him for us. My mom mentioned the same thing at one point. So apparently I think it happens at birth.
That's a really sweet image.
It helped me a lot!
Ditto - we were trying for a baby so I feel like I loved the idea of this little person long before she was a little person.
