Question (flameworthy?maybe)

 It drives me BSC when someone asks me to vote for their child in a photo contest.  I thought those contest were supposed to be for the cutest baby pic, but it turns out these contest are nothing more then a parent popularity contest.  Maybe I am being harsh.  I was just curious if anyone else felt this way. 

(I was going to save this for FFFriday but I thought what the He!!)

Edit:  I guess this is more of a rant then a question LOL

    Right there with you.  I never vote for people who ask for stuff... and my kid is always cuter anyway!!

    I have my LO entered in that same Parent magazine contest...I'm not asking anyone to vote for her. If she's cute enough...she'll be chosen by a judge. That contest included 10 winners, 9 are picked by judges, the 10th is based on votes.

    Yes  But, then again, I don't feel the need to enter my child in contests so I think the whole thing is silly.

    I do too.  I don't ask for votes because I know it's frowned on here but honestly if someone else asks for mine I'm happy to give it.  I like to see the cute babies.  And if I'm not in the mood for it that day I just ignore it.

    Agreed and this sounds super egotistical of me, but I figured that out when I saw some of the babies beating DS in the Parents weekly contest. Some of them were, yes, at least as cute (or cuter-shhh) than DS, but A LOT of them were not and it totally annoyed me.

    I kept wanting to post "So what happens if a not-so-cute baby wins those contests" but kept forgetting to on Fridays.
