Moms with Angelcare Monitors...

Don't flame me for asking this, I know most people would say that this question belongs on the trimester boards (no offense!) but I need to know some other moms opinions on them.  I checked the reviews and a lot of them said about false alarms but I figured even if it went off 5 times a night, it would be a lot less than me checking on her already.  So, what do you think of them?

Re: Moms with Angelcare Monitors...

  • i love it, wish i had it from day 1.  we got it when DD was about 2 months--i was checking her 20 times at night.  we have had 1 false alarm and that was because she inchwormed her way sideways and to the botttom of the crib.  i love that it tells you the temp of the room and the sound is better than the graco monitor we were using.  well worth the money--i sleep better and i can just look over and see the pendulum swinging.

  • Love mine.  And we have the sensitivity set so we really haven't had many false alarms.  If it's going off 5 times a night I would personally change the setting per the directions.  I sleep much better knowing this monitor is on.
  • I love it.  I did have some false alarms and had to up the sensitivity and reposition it under the mattress.  It was off to the side a little and wasn't detecting his movement on the other side of the crib.  Since then, no false alarms and it calms my nerves so much.

  • I got a snuza instead.  Its great and you can use it where ever you LO sleeps.  I love mine
  • We LOVE ours. We haven't had any false alarms, but the alarm did go off once and I am FOREVER thankful that I have this!!
  • Mine goes off every 20 minutes or so for no reason, we can't use it in the crib.  She's still sleeping in her cosleeper for that reason, because there are no false alarms, but I've done everything right with the crib and it doesn't work.  I called tech support at Angelcare and they don't know why it doesn't work either.  I can't take it back because it worked in her cosleeper for the first few months so I didn't save the receipt.

That said, IF it works for you you just can't beat it.  I'd still be freaking out every night, I'm freaking out that she's getting too big for the cosleeper and I won't be able to use it anymore.

We do have the one with only one sensor pad and Allie moves a lot in her sleep, maybe if we had the one with 2 it would be better?
