3rd Trimester

What's on your to-do list?

At 34 weeks, I still feel like there's a ton of things I'd like to get done before LO arrives. I finished all the baby laundry today, so that's one thing accomplished, but I still need to finish up the nursery, buy things we didn't get from showers, install the car seat, hang the new fire extinguishers, make some freezer meals, pack the hospital bag, and the list goes on and on. That's not even including house stuff, like painting over where we got the plaster fixed, cleaning out the basement and selling stuff we don't need, and getting estimates for getting the house painted.

What's on your list?

Re: What's on your to-do list?

  • I know it probably feels overwhelming at this point, but you have time.

I'm 38 1/2 weeks and all I have to do is pack my nursing bra (which should be arriving in the mail today). I was pretty much ready at 36 weeks. To be honest, I wish I had more stuff left on my to-do list. It feels weird to not have anything left to do to "get ready."

  • Sooo much..... tons of 'around the house' stuff, finish the nursery (furiture is together but that's it), I haven't had my shower yet so I have to do all the laundry and put things away (once I get them), shop for and make freezer meals..... so much other stuff to be done, maybe I should start a list, this mental one doesn't seem to be working :)

  • our to-do list has been spiraling out of control- every time we think we are within arms reach of having one thing done, seven things go wrong with it. So we need to..

*Get the mold removed on the kitchen wall (in process)
*Have electrician come finishing grounding the house and moving outlets
    *have walls replastered
*Have cabinets installed (FINALLY- they've been sitting in our garage for almost two months)
*REPAINT kitchen because they tore out wall plaster
    *have countertops installed
    *paint living room
*final coat on the ceilings in our room and LO's room
*remove office stuff from LO's room
*Set up LO's room (waiting for crib- my grandfather bought it for us!)

and of course, because I'm crazy.. I have a two week vacation after my spring semester exams (including a baby shower/bbq my mom is throwing!) and then come home to a 12 credit summer semester, including two on campus classes that last from mid june to july 9th, (our EDD is 7/25) and two online classes that last until August, because I have to graduate before we move again- gotta love the military.

Right now, topping my to do list is to eat!

  • I just have to get the car seat checked at the fire dept, buy some nursing tanks, and pack my bags.  Otherwise I'm ready to rumble.

  • I'm 38wks, 5 days and STILL have stuff on my To Do list so don't feel bad!

    To Do:

    - Make freezer meals

    - Paint spot on kitchen wall that we had to fix

    - Set-up pack 'n' play (we use this on the main living level as a changing table - soooo convenient!)

    - Reassemble swing

    - Find out where the heck all the infant socks are stored!

    - Clean and clean out fridge/freezer

  • Not a ton...I did most of it before we moved:

    Set up monitor
    Wash bottles
Buy diapers, wipes and bath items (shower is this weekend though)
Swing and vibrating chair (hopefully from the shower but we do have the option to borrow as well but I don't really like the one's offered to us)
Find or buy a portable CD player for the nursery
Buy a portable carpet cleaner (Bissell green machine and hopefully someone saw this on the registry)

Most of it is shower related which hopefully will mean gift cards so we can get what we need.

I built the stroller last night and the car seat is ready to be installed. Nursery is set-up and all clothes are washing and hung to dry. If she was born today it would be one trip to Target and we would be just great.

  • Install car seat.

Write thank-you cards for gifts received at the shower.

    Address envelopes for birth announcements.

Break my water or go into actual labor, then throw cell phones and chargers into the hospital bag.

Dump hospital bag into the car and head to the hospital.

That's about it.  I never made freezer meals - too lazy and there are several delivery places and a couple of markets around here that deliver.

  • I have a lot left too...

-Finish moving our stuff out of our house (so construction can begin)

-Get our room ready at my parents, we are staying there til the house is done

-Wash LO's clothes and organize drawers

-I have finals next week and a few little things to get done for the Fall semester

-Organize my clothes, having a yard sale on saturday to get rid of old stuff!

-Pack my bag and LO's diaper bag

-and still train the new girl at work  so she knows what to do while im off all summer. and i have some last minute things to finish before i can go on maternity leave

...and that may be all for now! im sure little things will come up along the way!

  • I know I have time...but I have almost EVERYTHING left to do.

    - Buy/receive EVERYTHING for the baby (aside from the crib, dresser,a Boppy and 1 pair of PJ's)  I'm pretty sure I'm having a shower, but it's a suprise so I don't know when/where etc.

    - When we get everything we'll need to put away/set up everything.

    - Get/watch the childbirth video that we've placed a hold on from the library weeks ago. It has still not been returned yet from the last person.

    - Fill out STD/FMLA paperwork.

    - Finish the last quarter of the school year (I'm a teacher).

    - Fix up the bathroom and put up the cabinets in there. They're currently in LO's room.

    - CLEAN

And probably a bunch of other things...not to mention all the things that aren't baby related at all...It's all good though. :)
