Black nursery furniture anyone?

We were leaning towards a cherry color, but may be getting a chair to put in there from the inlaws. It is black though. Would you go with black furniture so it all matches? I'm not sure it would go with our light purple colors.

I would think black would go really well with light purple....black goes with everything. I would do all black in a heart beat...in fact I might.

I had a phase of black furniture. I had a black pub table and chairs, with khaki suede.... Loved it but then ugh, not so much. Really look at it, they show dust (even if you dust every day) the slightest scratches, and any marks very well. We now have a cherry table, and our LO room is also going to be cherry. I'd just put a black chair in there with the cherry, you could (pending on the style) get a slip cover, or put a matching blanket folded over the top??? I just personally got tired of the black every day. Best of luck!

is the chair black wood or black fabric? if its black wood i would think other black furniture would be the way to go. if its black fabric i think you could still get away with cherry furniture if you tie some black into your light purple with accent stuff.

I would because black and the light purple would be really pretty together. I looked at a set that was lime green (pale) and black and it was adorable but DH hated it so we moved onto Butterflys

Eh, there's no need for all the furniture to be matchy matchy wood finish. All our nursery furniture but the crib are antiques and not necessarily matching in stain, and they look GREAT together!

DS has a black crib and we have a black bed. I love black and think it goes with all colors. We looked at dark cherry first, but then ended up on black since you can match anything to black or at least paint it to match. Trying to match wood colors is much harder as goes with painting them.

As for dust, you do see dust on black, but you also see it on dark cherry as well. I just wipe it down and then its gone. Personally at least I can see it when it needs to be cleaned rather then having something light and not noticed it therefor not clean it.

i wanted black furniture and had a nearly impossible time finding something that wasn't super expensive, or rubbed with red or yellow under it. We ended up with a beautiful cherry set.
