2nd Trimester

Wow, people are really generous.

So a couple of weeks ago my SIL has offered her Chicco 30 key fit car seat that my nephew (one year old) has just grown out of.  It's never been in an accident, etc. WOHOOO!  Free Car Seat!

Well a super nice and generous lady I met where I live now has a 3 year old and no plans for another.  She just casually offered her peg perego high chair, her bugaboo cameleon stoller and her really nice expensive crib (provided there are no recalls on it) in addition to the box of toys she just dropped of Indifferent

That's like between 1000-2000 dollars worth of major baby items.

I was going to get the phil and ted dash, but I'm going to see how her fancy stroller handles the trails behind my house (it has 2 inflatable tires and suspension).....I can always buy the phil and ted one later if this one doesn't work out.

I'm a basic black kind of a kid, and everything offered is orange/yellow (my least favorite colors), but for that much $$$  I'll take florescent plaid and be happy.

Yeah me! and HORAY FOR GENEROUS PEOPLE!!!!

Oooh I want the Chicco Keyfit 30, too (in yellow, black, and gray... I forget the name of the pattern). Orange isn't my favorite color either, but it's a fun, bright neutral for babies. Congrats on the loot!

  • i love when stuff like that happens! my parents have generously offered to buy the expensive crib ive been eyeing.. score!!
  • Very lucky! I am basically the last of my friends to have kids so I've had many of them offer up their stuff they are done with, which I'll gladly take!

  • That's awesome! I'm in the same boat... just had several friends offer me a ton of big ticket items and some moderate range but very useful things, as well as tons of clothing. I guess that's the perk to having many friends that are about 10 years older, recently had kids, and have no plans to have any others. I think other parents know how overwhelming baby purchases can be. Yahoo for nice people! I was able to scratch a ton of "necessary" items off our baby registry.
  • My SIL gave me my niece's crib, changing table and glider!! I was ecstatic!!!

  • Thats awesome.

Dru's brother and SIL are giving us their really high end crib and dresser.  Their house has built in dressers in the closets and they no longer need the dresser, and the girls have outgrown the crib.  They are not planing on any more kids, as DH's brother just got the snip. So great for us.

  • Thats great, that stroller alone is almost a 1000 and it should be fine on the trails, its pretty rugged.
  • florescent plaid.  Too funny!

  • Yay!!! That is awesome!!!
  • I know what you mean.  I have a DS who will be almost 5 when my twins are born and people are being soooooo generous knowing we are going to need 2 of most things.

So far we have gotten another brand-new crib (sister co-slept with her kids), barely used highchair, pack-n-play, swing, exersaucer, bouncy seat, glider, bassinet, Boppy, bottles, diaper pails, and other things I can't think of right now.  My mom is buying them matching crib bedding (whatever we choose) so that we can make them a nice nursery like DS got.  I know they will have a ton of clothes too as my mom goes nuts with clothes. ;)
