For those getting a tattoo for LO

in 3rd Trimester

I know this has been asked many times before, so I'm sorry. I was looking for ideas of what to get with LO's name because I want to cover up an old tattoo I got when I first turned 18 that has no meaning. What kind of designs are you getting for LO?

    well i was just planning on putting his name under my DDs name on the back of my neck.  and probably his zodiac sign on the right side of my chest.  i have my DDs on my left side.

    my x has one of those old fashioned clocks with bells on the top with the hands pointing to the time of her birth, the zodiac sign in the middle, grapes and 4 leaf clovers surrounding the bottom of it and a ribbon at the top with her name in it.  its really awesome.

    Mine won't work for your needs, but I'm getting some stars behind my right ear. Mostly twinkle type, but then a good solid star for LO, with some scattered spaces for future LO's Wink

    ETA: Think Kat Von D style stars, like her face

    Im going to get our kids names tattood in a circle on the inside of my left wrist, with a clover in the middle.

    it'll still be a while as I'll wait til we're done having kids.

    oh and I have an angel fish on my back, so I think I'll add more fish at some point and have them done in the kids' birthstone/flower colours

    I have the mandarin symbol for Bunny (my nickname) on the inside of my right ankle, was about to get the symbol for Bear (DH's nickname) on the inside of my left when we found out I pregnant, so I'm getting that after she comes, and then we are both getting the mandarin symbols for "Little Monster" (yes, this is what we call our child lol. This was before we found out it's what Lady Gaga calls her fans.. but she likes lady gaga so i guess it works out lol). I haven't decided where yet, and he's going to them on his back.

    I have a fish that has bubbles over it. In each bubble there are the first letters of my kids names. closer to the mouth there is a larger bubble with a W in it- for our last name.

    My DH has a shark and in each fin he has the kids initials.

    We also have our initials in there since they are the same since we got married--both JMW.

    I want a sparrow with her name in a banner. The sparrow has many different meanings but I like the "finding true love" meaning. It will be bright and colorful.

    Stephanie- Let's get this right! Stick out tongue This really gets under my skin and not like in an ink sorta way... sparrows and swallows are not the same kind of bird.  I am very much involved in swallow conservation and I just wish that they got the proper credit where it was due!  The traditional swooping bird tattoos with a sweeping V shaped forked tail- usually depicted at least partially blue- that's a swallow.  There are no blue sparrows... and there are no forked tail sparrows.... and sparrows are not birds who would ever take refuge on a ship in the middle of the ocean the way an exhausted migrating swallow would (causing the sailors so much joy and sparking the tattoo tradition)  If you want a sparrow tat- fine- but if you want a swallow- let's call him by the correct name!   If you do a sparrow tattoo google image search- almost all the results are actually swallows- I cringe to think people don't even know the right name of the animal in their tattoo... can you imagine if a "bulldog tattoo" was the thing to get... but they all resembled German shepherds?

    I am getting a little witch with a cat following her stars all around with the quote"magic follows me" . I will  put the letters of his name in the stars.
