39 week appt = FAIL!

0 cm dialated Sad

Although she said my cervix was thinning very nicely and LO head was quite low.

    Find me in a week and I can tell you what's it's like to be over 40 weeks and still not dilated even a fingertip...blah! Crying  Hope you start making progress! Smile

    I was a fingertip and 40% for 3 wks and then suddenly went into labor and dialated on my own. it'll happen! I suggest sex =)

    I predict I'll be where you're at on Monday at my next appt.  I'm 0 cm dilated, 90% effaced, LO is engaged (0 station).  I'm not expecting any change (but of course hoping for the best).  Hoping you see some progress soon!

    Don't be discouraged.. when I had DS and at my 39 week apt. I was 0 dialated as well... the OB said that this baby is not coming any time soon and it would go psat my due date... 2 days later I went into labour...

    my OB says the thinnng is most important first, then the dialating...

    I swear thats how I went into labor. I had sex and 36 hrs later i went into labor. The prostoglandins help thin and dialate you.

    aw, i'm sorry to hear that!!!  at my appt on tuesday my midwife said that for a first time mother, the effacement is the hardest part b/c you can dialate quickly once labor starts.  that gave me some hope.  LOs will be here before we know it...

    Dilation means nothing until you're in labor.  You could still start at any time.

    I'm a little behind you, but I'm 0 cm and LO has not dropped at all!  So discouraging, but MW told me all of this means nothing.  I could be in hard labor in 24 hours, or walking around 3 cm for weeks.  Not sure why they even check and tell us our status if it doesn't really mean anything.

    That is the reason some choose not to be checked. It really means nothing. You can walk around for weeks dilated at 3cm. Hang in there. The baby can't stay in the forever. :)

    At my appointment this morning I am 1 cm dialated and still very high and thick....great! She couldnt even attempt to strip my membranes because the baby is so high....and then she told me nothing helps bring the baby here, except when the baby decides it's ready.....ugh

    My due date is on Saturday and I am 2cm and that is about it. I dont know about the effacement, etc. I really hope the baby makes an appearance soon! It is nice that everyone keeps on calling asking where the baby is or if I delivered yet. I told them as soon as I have the baby or go into labor I will let them know!

     With that being said....I tried that Castor Oil two days ago. Someone said if you are ready it will work. Well I guess I was not ready :-( I had a fun night of being in the bathroom.

     I am now trying that red leaf tea. I like it so that is why I am drinking it.

    DS 5/5/10 Due in Feb 2012!
