Babies: 3 - 6 Months

de-swaddling = FAIL

My boys were STTN for the past month or so. Last week we decided to de-swaddle them and they woke up 2-3 times a night for a week straight. Last night we swaddled them again. STTN! Grrrrrrr!

  • LOL I just responded to your post in another thread. I'm sorry! If I were you I would still be swaddling! Did you de-swaddle gradually or cold turkey??

We did one arm out at naps for a few days first and they slept ok. Then we put both arms out at naps and night. Eli is always flailing about, so he wakes himself up then he wakes James up. We've swaddled last night but I'm keeping arms out for naps right now.

    They are adorable, btw!

  • We quit cold turkey and went through the same thing. It took a little over a week and now he's back to normal. If you can go through the sleepless nights for a little while, they will get used to it.

Some people on here did suggest to me, though, that the babies will be fine with it and not have a problem sleeping when they are ready not to be swaddled anymore, so you could just keep swaddling and try again later.
